Application Identifier 402 specifies an identification number for the entire shipment. Ai 402 will be assigned by the seller and can be used throughout the transport flow on the consignment note and in EDI messages.
The GSIN must always start with the GS1 Prefix and the company reference number of the company managing the number. The next 9/5 digits are assigned by the company, depending on whether the small package or standard package is used. The last digit is a check digit.
AI 00 is used to identify each shipping unit, while AI 402 is used to identify the entire shipment.
