How do you work with GS1Trade Packaging and how has it been to get started using it?
DanePork is growing like crazy right now. We are currently working on integrating all our packaging data into GS1Trade Packaging, entering our product numbers, and structuring it. And then transferring it toGS1Trade Sync.
At first it was a bit difficult to find information about GS1Trade Packaging, but once we found out that there were a lot of videos and guides on gs1.dk and that you could take online courses - it was relatively easy.
And watching online videos that you can fast forward, rewind and pause works well. I've participated in a couple of webinars and have subsequently created a lot of item numbers. Afterwards, I had an online meeting with a GS1 consultant where we went through our part number creations and got feedback. It was absolutely fantastic.
GS1Trade Packaging has helped create a good overview for us and a good structure in all the reporting of packaging data. We started from scratch and in a month we have actually worked our way through it.
What are your future needs in relation to GS1Trade Packaging?
I would like to be able to sort at customer level and create directories and libraries. In the long term, I could imagine that our foreign customers would also be required to use the same system.
How else do you use GS1 in your daily work?
We use GS1Trade Activate, where we create barcodes. We have had some cases with new retail customers in Greece and Italy. They use a completely different system, so through GS1 Denmark we have been put in touch with GS1 in Greece and Italy, where we have received support and barcodes. It has been an easy way for us to solve the problem. We didn't have to start from scratch – it has actually been easier than we expected.
