In common parlance, many people know the GTIN as a barcode, but technically the GTIN is the number below the barcode symbol itself, and can therefore also be used for other technologies such as 2D barcodes and RFID tags.
With GS1ID you can generate globally unique identification numbers for everything from products to locations.
GS1 offers up to 12 different global standards for identification to help you ensure an efficient supply chain - worldwide. Most common are product identification numbers (GTIN), location numbers (GLN/EAN) and numbers for shipments such as pallets (SSCC).
To get started with GS1ID, your company must be a member of GS1 Denmark. A GS1ID subscription gives you a unique number - called the GS1 company prefix - which you use to generate your global unique identification numbers.
To identify the products and devices you sell, you need a unique number, all generated from your GS1 company prefix. You get this prefix when you purchase a GS1ID subscription.
You need your company prefix to create all types of identification numbers, for example, for products, packages, pallets, containers and locations.
GS1ID gives you access to generate identification numbers for a variety of global standards. See the most popular ones on this page.
Below you can see the prices for the GS1ID subscriptions.
