GTIN

In common parlance, many people know the GTIN as a barcode, but technically the GTIN is the number below the barcode symbol itself, and can therefore also be used for other technologies such as 2D barcodes and RFID tags.

GS1 Membership andGS1Trade Packaging

To use GS1Trade Packaging, your company must be a member of GS1 Denmark and have a subscription to GS1Trade Packaging.

With GS1 membership, you automatically receive one GLN number (also known as an EAN number). The GLN is used to identify your company when exchanging data with trading partners and is also used in electronic commerce, such as for invoicing.

How is the price calculated?

A GS1Trade Packaging basic subscription allows you to create and share packaging data with your business partners.

You can create as many products as you need. You always start by paying for the lowest usage tier and are automatically billed when you move up to the next tier.

Do you need to receive data and report marketed volumes?

If you need to share packaging data throughGS1Trade Packaging, your company must be registered as a data provider. As a data provider, you can create, maintain, and share your packaging data all in one place.

Physical location: A tangible place that does not change location and can be identified by an address, coordinates, or other means.

Tip:

It is perfectly normal to use multiple GLNs for different purposes, but each GLN should have only one clearly defined primary use.

Why am I only paying part of the annual fee?

At GS1 Denmark, subscriptions are typically billed annually. When you sign up, you therefore only pay for the remainder of the current year. After that, the subscription will be renewed at the full annual rate.
