In common parlance, many people know the GTIN as a barcode, but technically the GTIN is the number below the barcode symbol itself, and can therefore also be used for other technologies such as 2D barcodes and RFID tags.

GS1 Membership andGS1Trade Transact

To use GS1Trade Transact, your company must be a member of GS1 Denmark and have a subscription to GS1Trade Transact. You then pay for the documents you exchange.

With GS1 membership, you automatically receive one GLN number (also known as an EAN number). The GLN is used to identify your company when exchanging data with trading partners and is also used in electronic commerce, such as for invoicing.

Do you need to connect GS1Trade Transact to your accounting system?

GS1Trade Transact is a reliable and proven EDI solution that can be integrated into your accounting system. The solution ensures that you send exactly the information your customer needs, so your invoice is approved the first time.

With GS1Trade Transact, you can receive orders and send invoices digitally. The solution functions as GS1’s EDI system and supports both the digital receipt and transmission of documents to your customers. You choose whether the system should be integrated with your financial system or whether you want to access it online.

What does integration with a financial system mean?

You choose whether to enter data into GS1Trade Transact online or integrate it into your finance/ERP system. By integrating to the financial system, data will be automatically transferred without you having to enter into GS1Trade Transact.

Physical location: A tangible place that does not change location and can be identified by an address, coordinates, or other means.

Tip:

Why am I only paying part of the annual fee?

At GS1 Denmark, subscriptions are typically billed annually. When you sign up, you therefore only pay for the remainder of the current year. After that, the subscription will be renewed at the full annual rate.
