I daglig tale er der mange, som kender GTIN som en stregkode, men teknisk set er GTIN det nummer, som findes under selve stregkode-symbolet, og kan derfor også bruges til andre teknologier som fx 2D stregkoder og RFID tags.

This guide is for you who only use GS1Trade Packaging to share packaging data with your customers.
If your company also subscribes to GS1Trade Sync, please refer instead to the guide on data sharing between Trade Packaging and Trade Sync.
Before you start, it’s important to agree with your customers where they wish to receive data – in Trade Sync or in Trade Packaging.
Data sharing in GS1Trade Packaging consists of two simple steps:
By default, data is sent to both GS1Trade Sync and GS1Trade Packaging.
If your recipient only wants data via GS1Trade Packaging, disable Publish to GS1Trade Sync under Sharing Destinations.
If one of your recipients requires GS1Trade Sync, make sure Publish to GS1Trade Sync remains enabled.
Note: If you mistakenly share data to GS1Trade Sync, you can simply avoid publishing the product. In that case, the data will not be made available to recipients in GS1Trade Sync.

Once you have added recipients to all your products, you are ready to publish your data. When you publish, your data is sent to the selected recipients.
If the status shows Publication completed the data has been successfully published.

Under "Publications", you can track the status.
Status Publication completed means that the data has been shared with the recipient.
Status Approval required means that you are about to send data where changes affect products that are not part of your current publication.
If the publication fails, please contact Member Service for support.

You can take a systematic approach and publish your data recipient by recipient – especially if you have many products and recipients.
For example, you might have products for both Rema 1000, Coop and Salling. Go through all your products (GTINs) and assign the correct recipient(s) one by one under “Sharing settings”.
Under “Publish Data”, you can filter by Recipient(s). Select the desired recipient from the dropdown list.
Choose specific products or select all, and click Publish.
Note: Filtering by Recipient is a way to view the products where a given company is listed as a data recipient. If a product has multiple data recipients, the data will be shared with all recipients when you click Publish – and not only the filtered recipient.
It is currently not possible to see detailed publishing data under the “Publications” tab. Therefore, we recommend noting – in a separate Excel sheet or other note format - the time of publication along with a description of the content and recipient – for example, “all PL products to Rema 1000”. This will help you keep an overview.
